And that’s with a single attacker that you’re expecting. Nobody at that class was surprised they were charged. What about in a crowd with surprise?

All these Monday AM racistbacks are fakers.

OK, but, but, those targets didn’t have guns, so the defender should only fight back with an identical weapon. And what if it was only a plastic toy knife...and the alleged attacker was on his way to a Bible study between his medical school classes...really turning his life around from the thuggish lifestyle demonstrated by the minutes old video of him strong arm robbing a convenience store.

Over reacting for sure.

The Powell shooting video is a useful example. Guy with a knife goes after cops (2!) who have their guns drawn and pointed at him, about 20 feet distant. They stop him with 6-10 shots, and he still manages to fall at the _feet_ of one cop; a few more inches and he could have slashed the cop before dying.

always remember the tueller drill. it will be part of your defense if necessary.

always remember “disparity of force” as well. critical.

disparity of force covers you b/c it’s a surprise attack.

You know I concur. Someone comes at me with a knife, it would be best for him to turn and run when he realizes I’m reaching for my pistol. Well, unless he thinks he can still close the distance in time to overtake me, then he may very well win. But if I get the pistol on him in time it will not be good for him. And I’m not even a policeman.
