Suppose a town contains 5000 white middle-class families, and no one else. Now take away most of the good jobs for those families by shutting down all the factories.
Put most of the people on the public dole, with enough money to survive, but not enough money to buy nice things or upgrade their houses. Encourage fathers to abandon their families by giving extra money to families that break up.
What would that white town look like after thirty years? Mayberry or Detroit?
Violence can NEVER be excused. We are each 100% liable for are own behavior. But urban problems have deep roots. I hope you see my point here.

Do you seriously believe that this would crush the entrepreneurial spirit of these 5000 white middle-class families? Not for a moment! They would quickly regroup and take a quick accounting of the facts then move on to another area that was not depressed.
I didn’t gather the financial assets that I have today by laying down when jobs weren’t available where I was living. I moved and opened a new business where I was welcomed and risk of failure was minimal. White people aren’t known for quitting or turning away from opportunity to better themselves.
