More than 400 fatal police killings a year are sanctioned by local, state and federal authorities as justified homicides, but the FBI doesnt specifically track how many times officers are prosecuted for improperly causing a persons death.
The FBI said Tuesday that it doesnt keep statistics on specific prosecutions of law enforcement officers because it doesnt track crimes by profession, though it does track justified homicide rulings.
In 2012, the last year available for full statistics, law enforcement ruled a total of 410 deaths as justified homicides, the FBI said. The annual number has been steady for much of the past few decades, officials said.
The FBI defines justifiable homicide as the killing of a felon by a law enforcement officer in the line of duty.

Obama-Holder (hint: more racist than Sharpton-Jackson) won’t allow another Zimmerman type acquittal, as in the Saint Trayvon affair. Holder is in Ferguson to ensure the indictment of a cop who had no choice but to euthanize a giant, charging, feral animal who already had caused serious bodily harm. Their fists are crushing the scales of justice.
The arrogance of the police has lead to this opportunity for Holder/Obama .. when a majority of pd’s have IA complaints handled by the immediate super to the person being complained about... when every time a cop causes a traffic accident it’s the victim charged with the accident ... when you have the cops preying on the public with militant meter-maid policies and speed/minor infraction traps... or in my city where the police bought and paid for illegal traffic ticket cameras (with rigged yellow lights) for 6 years and they now refuse to refund the people they stole from ...
The only time I’ve had use for a cop all I got was a written report , no action on the problem and boatloads of civil servant attitude.
Add the accidental killings via auto accidents and you’ll double this number easily... I’ll predict right here that less than 1% are prosecuted properly ,, in my area the amount of provable , intentional evidence spoilage is legendary.
