US taxpayers are now paying for military missions, in which US taxpayer paid-for warplans and missiles are used to blow up other US taxpayer paid-for tanks, artillery, MRAPs, and various other weapons of death.

This all could have been avoided if Obama had sent the A-10s and attack helicopters to destroy the columns of ISIS as they rolled over the border.

Our armature government has lost credibility again world wide so the cost is another piece of credibility.

Anytime we leave a country we should destroy all military infrastructure we built and bring all weapons home.

Unfortunately, there are lots of non-military parallels as its not unusual to see the government spending taxpayer money to clean up other taxpayer funded messes. It would all be comical if it wasn’t so financially wasteful, especially during a time when the national debt is about to crush us.

Precisely! And the greater point is that America benefits immensely from our large and capable military establishment and our dominant role in the world. They help to enhance our national security, assure the openness of the world to American trade and finance, and help make the world willing to accept American dollars and to buy and hold our public debt.

In a roundabout way, the world wants American goods and services and our dollars and Treasuries, watches our movies and TV shows, dresses like us, and even tries to copy our manners, values, and practices because doing so helps to align their countries on the same side as the US military and to accrue the benefits of friendship with the US. It is good to be a good country, better to be good and wealthy, and better yet to be good and wealthy and also the most powerful country in the world.

Exactly where would such aircraft be stationed that would of been within range?

That is why it was so important for Obummer to negotiate a contingency command inside of Iraq instead of abandoning them.

We left billions of dollars of equipment and munitions in Iraq. The vehicles probably still had the keys in them. Gee, I wonder why? If you’re going to have a war, you need a well-equipped enemy.

How Much Does It Cost America To Blow Up American Weapons?

Although this thread seems like something Cindy Sheehan would post, it does present an important subject for discussion.

If all these weapons are paid for by the country where it exists the people of that country own them and I couldn't care less how they deal with the double problem of holding their privileged position of limitless graft, and of having those weapons, which he previously totally controlled, used against him.
How those weapons are neutralized is his problem.

On the other hand, if the weapons are 'given," by the United States, willy-nilly to all sides of a conflict, The House of Representatives, the ONLY Constitutionally authorized keepers of the national purse, must put their big boy pants on and put an end to it. Period. permanently.

If the present version of the subject problem is not one of the above, I would love to learn what it might be.

My maligned Prius has a key without which it cannot be started. as far as I know, there is no "master key" available that will start all Priuses of all model years

How hard is it to build million dollar weapons that have enhanced versions of that idea?

I can't get a duplicate key for my car, without presenting either another original, or the VIN and proof of ownership.

Seems to me that any such disabling of a tank, or plane or armored vehicle, etc., would also disable, separately, all associated computers and subsystems, seaparately.

Alternatively, I have observed that "unauthorized" users of "borrowed" armored military equipment never travel alone in just one. Two or more can be stopped and disabled with an air-fuel bomb of appropriate size, so they can be 'repossessed" by the rightful owner, after removing the remains of the crispy critters.

LOL!

The only thing worse than having to fight your way in to put down some MMMs is...

...having to fight your way out!

I thought that Omugabe had all A10s retired.
And since he never does "stupid things" halfway, he probably ordered them destroyed!

If the US has to use our weapons to blow up our weapons, if we also blow up the terrorists we created, it's a plan.

It’s not so much Obama who wants to retire the A-10s as the Air Force. They don’t want anything to do with aircraft that aren’t stealthy, sexy, and $150 million per copy. But they don’t want the Army to take them, either.
