Our jails and prisons should be safe, even for the most evil among us. There is an element of Karma here, but I would prefer to see a proper sentence of life with no chance of parole paired with a safe confinement in solitary forever.

I agree with this.

When we resort to an eye for an eye mentality...we are headed for trouble.

I quite agree, quite agree. Is why I said hang him at dawn like we did in the old days. Would save taxpayers millions.

That would cost the innocent taxpayer millions over the criminal’s lifetime. I prefer a Devil’s Island situation. Drop them off and don’t let them escape. Whatever happens, happens.

If it is beyond the power of government to make neighborhoods safe for people who do not harm others, how is it that you came up with a notion that it is even possible to make life safe for violent people (many of whom should justly have been executed) to be safe while incarcerated together?

Prisons use power to maintain the status quo. Race fixated gangs are played off one another to distract the masses from having disputes with the prison officials.

Rape is used as a reward and a form of abuse. Prison officials look the other way while prisoners are subjugated and abused. It "keeps them in line". Even murders in prison don't warrant full investigation or prosecution.
