2014 FReeper Pick'em Fantasy Football League

InvisibleChurch has hosted a league for FReepers for the past decade. His schedule has changed and I volunteered to help out.

"FINO FOOTBALL IN NAMEONLY"

Please join our group 18177, and use the password "donate". Same rules as for many years - just pick the team you think will win, and assign points based on how confident you are that the team will win.

This year I am trying out tie breakers. Yahoo! gives us two, game scores and most/fewest points. We'll see if we like it.

So for week 1, I may pick Dallas to beat San Fran in San Fran, and assign 16 points to the Dallas win.

(or maybe my pain meds will wear off before then ...)

It truly is fun, and except for InvisibleChurch's encyclopedic knowledge of movies, should be similar to last year.

This years winner will have other players donate to Free Republic in their name, and we will all give them a hearty clap.

Okay, I’ve wanted to do fantasy football for years. I’m the kind of wife who watches football even if my husband is not home. It’s my weakness, I just love it. If FReepers are doing it, I’m in. Keep in mind that this is not the high octane, buy your players kind of league. It is a great way to get involved, actually pay attention to the teams and develop a working knowledge of teams - not really the individual players and their stats.

Click on the link at the top of the thread - “pure vanity”. It took me to the league and I could Join Group.

Create a name - mine is “Romo-Vote 16-0 or 0-16”. Follow the choices and you will be added to the group.

Let us know your football name, or just keep republicanbred. That's what I did for many years.

Let us know and we will lead you into selecting games and choosing confidence points.

Of the projected Cowboys defensive starters, name one that would start on any other NFL team.

I would not be surprised if Dallas winds up with a top 3 draft pick.
