Spent a week in Dubai,the nearby playground of rich Saudis,earlier this year.One evening while on a "desert safari" I got to know three Saudi ladies who appeared to be in their 30's.Intelligent,perfect English,dressed in fairly conservative,but modern,casual wear (slacks,blouse,etc).And they were gorgeous...and young enough to be my daughters.They didn't strike me as the type who enjoyed wearing those black burlap sacks.At one point I asked them what brought them to Dubai they replied,in unison,"because this is where we come to have fun"
The only Saudis I've ever interacted with...a big surprise for sure.
The moment Saudi businessmen are on a plane it and it leaves Saudi airspace, the booze starts flowing. And when the plane lands, they make a beeline straight for the nearest nudie bar.
My daughter was assigned a work-study job at her college to tutor some Saudi males in English.
Freed from the constraints of the morality police these kids go absolutely hog wild. Endless drinking, drugs, orgy-like sex. She had to complain a number of times to the administration that they were engaging in improper behavior towards her, bordering on sexual harassment.
One of them got beaten-up by a gang of black Americans because he had no cultural understanding of why they were allowed to toss around the “N” word, but he wasn’t.
And of course they have access to endless buckets of money that would allow them to party themselves right into the grave.
She is convinced they will all be thoroughly dysfunctional adults.
