Paterno should have reported his suspicions to a police agency ‘outside’ Penn State’s influence.

I know I would have...which is one reason I wouldn’t have been there.

Joe didn’t have any “suspicions”. He had a sketchy 2nd hand account.

Another example of just injecting false information into a narrative and repeating it as if it were the truth.

Joe reported what he was told to the proper authorities and set up a meeting between MM/GS/TC.

You might be able to excuse him for not doing that right off the bat. After nothing happened and he saw Sandusky still coming around, still bringing kids with him, though?

Yeah, at that point, you can’t just say “I did what was required” and shrug off your responsibility.
