Florida State is starting 2014 where it ended the 2013 season: atop the Coaches Poll.
The 2014 preseason Amway Coaches Poll was released on Wednesday and the Seminoles are No. 1 ahead of Alabama and Oklahoma, last year's participants in the Sugar Bowl. Oregon is No. 4 while the team that FSU beat in the BCS Championship Game, Auburn, is No. 5.

Free Seafood University.
SC at 9??? someone really is smoking something...
My alma mater numero uno as it should be. :-)
I think they have the top three correct. Which of the three wins the national championship will depend on which team is most successful at keeping their players out of the penitentiary.
if their Heisman QB can stay out of trouble.
I agree with that for the most part. I would swap Ohio St and Auburn, and I would drop Baylor and move Georgia up 2 spots to 10. Watch out for Arizona St this season, they are going to surprise a lot of people.
Heh heh, since most likely the Gators will stink again this year with Muschump, I’ll have to take the laughs where I can get them.
Maybe so, but Sarkisian is going to bring them back.
All I ask for this year is, Can we at least not block each other?
Good!! We don’t need that burden.
Sorry I meant South Carolina... they always get ranked high then crash, every year!!
These guys obviously didn’t see what Oklahoma did to Alabama.
Alabama didn’t even belong on the same field as Oklahoma.
The BCS should stand for “Bull Crap Session.”
FSU is a third rate school and team, and they are playing the equivalent of high school opposition this season. Just check out that laughable line-up. The Citadel? Really? I didn’t even know they had a team.
At least Auburn continues to maintain a tough SEC standard by continuing to play strong teams like LSU, Ole Miss, Arkansas, South Carolina, Georgia and Alabama this year, and they are number 5 to FSU?
I laugh as I imagine the Criminoles playing teams like those back to back.
This really reminds me of the year that BCS placed Hawaii as number one in the Nation, and then they played Georgia and got wiped out 41-10.
Go FSU Rainbow Warriors, haha.
Be fair, there’s been a history of SEC teams not showing up for the Sugar Bowl. If they aren’t in the Championship Game, they have no motivation.
LOL! Looks like someone is playing after they got their bell rung.
lol
