HOBOKEN, New Jersey (WPVI) -- After receiving numerous reports of a baby left inside of a locked vehicle alone, medics in Hoboken, New Jersey broke the driver's side window of the vehicle to rescue the apparently lifeless looking child.
After gaining entry to the car, the EMTs discovered the reason the baby seemed lifeless was because it was a doll belonging to the granddaughter of the owner of the car.

The important thing is that people got to feel outraged... for a few minutes.
Well. Better safe than sorry.
...Yeah, and a few minutes later they locked ‘ol Chatty Cathy in the trunk!
I can already see the DemocRATs passing a bill requiring that all doll makers paint their dolls’ heads florescent orange.
hahhahha
and can you imagine if it was “Chucky”?
You may or may not be snarking but truth is stranger than snarks:

i wonder what the Dem’s would of done if it was a black doll, and it took 2 hours to rescue it?
you’d feel that way even if it was your car?
We knew she was delirious, she kept saying “Math is Hard, Math is Hard.”
Absolutely. If anyone ever thought my child got mistakenly left in our car, I’ll gladly accept and be eternally grateful if they broke out every window to save their life. Even if it ended up being a mistake.
They are stupid when it comes to the real world.
Someone is out hundreds, maybe thousands of dollars in damage. That's real.
Government officials can't be immune personally from torts.
Ever. At all.

If the 'rescuer' has to break out every window, your child's doll might be in more danger from someone too stupid to break the smallest, cheapest window.
Where does common sense intersect with this problem?

You should see Mattel’s latest model. She gets Pre-EMS.
Wow. Easy with the broad brush. I would venture a guess that someone working EMS in Hoboken is not “stupid when it comes to the real world”.
Oh no? I see the demonrats creating a department of babydoll safety as a sub-department of either HUD or Education. The 27000 page law that they will pass will be non-descript and need to be further defined by the new sub-department employees. Most likely the law will include requirements for markings, possibly tattoos, on all babydolls and all kids so that emergency crews can tell the difference......
That speaks for itself.
My primary concern is with retired government employees saying "Whatever, better safe than sorry".
They don't have to pay the real costs of the actions of government officials.
Some nameless plebe does that.
I want to make the government officials pay, just like anyone else would.
If I smashed out a window to rescue a doll, you can bet the insurance company lawyers would be coming after me.
I don't have blanket government immunity.

Let us hope that these medical experts didnt try to resuscitate the “child”...
