(I’m not on the ping list but I’m reporting all the same.)

Checking in from NC — I’m working on a flower garden (in memory of my Mom). I’ve been battling leaf hoppers and mealy bugs for a few weeks. I’m feeling confident that the problems are almost licked. (Almost as I’m still finding leaf hoppers and mealy bugs but not in the great abundance of a few weeks ago.)

The one rose that was producing blooms was starting to look weird (curled petals and of a darker hue than the the flower itself). Botrytis, maybe?

Also have a tomato in a container whose little tomatoes were showing brown discolored bottoms. I took them off the plant. Hoping the next ones won’t be looking the same.

I’m seeing the brown discoloration on some of my tomatoes as well. What is that?

Hubby had similar issues with his roma tomatoes. I had him treat them with bonemeal and epsom salts per directions on the package, and no problems since then.

I have some roses, but I really don’t know much about them, as I have concentrated on growing food, but hopefully some one else can discuss it.

Let me know if you would like to be on the list. Of course you are welcome to post anytime anyway.
