Gigantism itself is a freak-show kind of condition. I don’t think it’s very sensitive to throw around a word that is horribly offensive to people who have that overactive pituitary syndrome that makes people giants.
“Giant” is just not a very nice word. They need to change the name of the team. And the football Giants should follow suit (by that I mean, lawsuit)

A number of nicknames should be abolished for being offensive. Yankees...oppressors of the South. Red Sox...obviously commies. White Sox...racists. Dodgers...trolley car far avoiders i.e. thieves, Brewers...drunks. Lot’s more important p.c work to do.

My grandfather was very tall. He defended this country in WWII. He was a good man and I find it offensive that a team would disrespect and mock people like that by naming their team with the G word.
