Actually there have been all sorts of research into the effects that certain tones/sounds have on people (like falling over, losing control of their bowels, etc.) in the name of "crowd control".
Great! Once they figure out how to do it remotely (without physical contact) then we are screwed. Just turn us off if we don’t like what they’re doing to us...
