SHELBY COUNTY, TN -
A once trusted Hope Presbyterian Church music teacher is now at the center of a child sex investigation.
Officials are releasing very few details about the investigation, but they do say that it involves multiple agencies.
On Wednesday, Matthew Williams was charged with child sex abuse involving a family member. On Saturday, Hope Presbyterian Church found out and terminated Williams' contract immediately.
Collierville Police Department confirmed there is an investigation, but that is all it would say.
Williams taught piano lessons at Hope Music Academy at the church for almost a year.
A spokesperson for Hope Presbyterian told WMC Action News 5 that Williams, like other employees, went through a very extensive background check that included national data bases, a sex offender registry and even a check for aliases. Still, the church found no criminal record.

Appears to be Evangelical Presbyterian (EPC). Slogan appears to be ‘Church for the Unchurched’.
Senior Pastor is a Black Baptist from Houston; Associate pastor looks like an old hippie (white, of course), with hair below his collar bones.
Sounds like that church has other issues. Would not be surprised if this is not the only case of child abuse/rape to come down the pike.
Throw him in jail.
He’s been charged. Now it’s up to a jury.
Never a good idea for music teachers to be playing in A Minor.
I live in Memphis, am quite familiar with this chuch and many of its members. Your appears to be’s are ust that. If you don’t these staff members, then you don;t have an opinion. At least, Hope immediately got rid of the pervert, unlike the huge church down the street resulted in a huge church split.

Do you live in Memphis? And, just what other issues does it sound like is having? Oh! I know, Hope is a MEGA church,
So it isn't the EPC church that I found on the internet? If they have a web site, perhaps you can provide a link so I can correct myself as to their affiliations.
