A few random comments: Gomez is as deserving as Stanton or Puig to be an NL OF starter, but I could only pick two of those three to go along with McCutcheon. For AL DH, Martinez is just as deserving as Encarnacion, so I think that one could go either way. Strongest position so far this year: NL 1B. Hardest team to find anyone All-Star worthy: New York Mets. And notice: No Jeter. I wouldn't mind if he is on the team, as sort of a whole-career tribute, but his performance this year is just so-so.

Altuve is getting short shrift (no pun intended) because he is attached to a bottom tier team. He is an amazing ball player.

I remember at Fenway Park during the 1970s, they'd hand out the All-Star ballots to all the people in the stands. By the 8th inning, thousands of these paper ballots would come cascading from the upper deck like a ticker-tape parade.

I miss those days. Hot dogs were only about 75 cents and they would sell you beer without checking for your ID. I think it was $1.25.

McGehee deserves the nod as the backup at 3B. He’s leading the position in BA, hits, doubles, rbi’s, BA w/ RSP, and fielding percentage. He’s done a great job of making pitchers pay for pitching around Stanton.

Glad you picked Richards....he's deserving.

He's young..but pretty poised and polished. Knows what he's doing....He's got a good support system with Weave and Young around....

Rajai Davis has been getting it done on both sides of the plate lately.

Nothing but pitchers this time — both teams composed entirely of pitchers.
