This will be a thread to bookmark! I'm reading The Worst Hard Time by Timothy Egan. It's an account of the Dust Bowl of the 1930s.

Also 77 Shadow Street by Dean Koontz. I'm just beginning to get into his novels. I recently finished The Taking, which convinced me Koontz is a conservative Christian (Catholic, as I found out).

I read the Dust Bowl book. Never anything by Dean Koontz, though.

I have my library account up so I can request items as I get the suggestions.

That was a fascinating book!

I just finished Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children and Hollow City. Quick, fun, mindless summer reads. This morning I started A Tale of Two Cities which is part of my Read All My Favorite Books from Childhood project this year. Jeez! I don't remember it being so hard. Apparently I've gotten dumber over the years!

My favorite Koontz book is Lightning. It’s about this woman named Laura who seems to have a guardian angel in the form of a handsome, but rather cold-eyed blond man who is a little scary. He’s shown up at random intervals in her life to save her from horrific situations, but he never seems to age... it’s good!
