Correct. This is a big problem. Bees are dying off and we don’t know why. Healthy bees are crucial for our crops. I don’t disagree with the Administration on this even though they do everything else wrong.
Says who? Which bees are you talking about? The EUROPEAN honey bees, which aren’t even supposed to bee here? How did crops survive before they were brought over from imperial pig states back in colonial times???
Leave it to this “administration” to propose a “help a brouthah out” plan. Like forcing more Afro bees North to “jump start” a bloated, crop-wasting corporate festering farming conglomerate. Watch. They’re gonna suggest this.
No thanks.
The best thing the government could do is no strings attached grants to facilities that are now active in researching this. It likely wouldn’t take that much. NBy no strings I mean simply stay out of their way and let them work. No coming in and promoting political agenda including Dept of Labor and Equal Opportunity promoting Unions etc which distracts from and slows down if not stops the research. A pipe dream because they won’t.
Insect populations down 40% in 5 years because of cool and wet summers. This of cause is bad for pollination of fruit and berries. The grain harvest in Norway this summer is down 18% from average the last 5 years, despite increase in area and better seeds
The above figure shows Norwegian wheat production from 1960. Wheat production is off 48% from its peak:
