Delay is just another word for Pause.
The Sun is just pausing for the big warm up. You’ll see! Really! Maybe not now but in five years there won’t be any ice at the North Pole just like the Goracle said!
He categorically eliminates a dissipative effect (like storing heat in ocean water) as the cause of the delay. Why?

But as a Christian believing that God created this universe and this solar system and this earth, I always find language like this a little bit presumptuous....
