As an IT professional I am calling BS on the claim that Lerner's emails are lost. The BHO regime has choosen to gleem the cube on this one and it is going to bite them in the a$$! I think it is time Ed Snowden is asked to apply his skills and retrieve the files in question. I have no doubt he is the man for the job.
They are gone because he took them with him.
I think the tech support at Office Depot could find them.

Backups,archived or full, incremental, somewhere multiple copies exist.. Of everything.

The emails may be gone, but only because they were destroyed. The emails were not "lost".
I'll wager the emails contain the smoking gun that shows Whitehouse involvement. They were purposely destroyed and there is a small team of IRS IT people who know exactly what happened. The Whitehouse strategy is to run out the clock and play the "plausible deniability" game.
Obama plans to run out the clock on his Presidency and then issue pardons on the last day. In keeping with the Chicago way, they perpetrators of the data losses will be rewarded under the table.
Our only hope is a whistleblower.
