Vanity: Laws about health insurance in FL

I have a female relative in FL who has been working full-time for a day care operation since January.

They have about 30 teachers and such. They provide a health care plan to full-time employees, and all but my relative have been offered access. They claim they don't have the money to put her on the plan now, and keep putting her off that they'll get her on when they can.

Is this legal, and if not how can she proceed to make them do what they should?

Any advice, particularly with references to specifics of the relevant laws, will be greatly appreciated.

I do not know about the Florida laws, but some companies require six months of employment before giving any benefits.

If she started in January and this is June, she will soon be at six months. Maybe she should ask them if she will be covered then.

I wouldn’t post any names here as her boss may be a freeper and then she will be looking for a new job as they may see her as a disgruntled emp

The small employer (50 or fewer eligible employees) group plan must be offered to all eligible employees once the waiting period has been met and during open enrollment.

Reference: Florida Statute 627.6699(5)(h)(5) (Title XXXVII, Chapter 627)

So she needs to know what the official waiting period is
