I have been thinking about doing some long term watering using clay pots. For these you take two of the pots and glue the tops together. Use waterproof caulk around the rims and plug up the bottom hole and caulk it too.

Stick a plastic tube in the top hole. Bury the containers in the ground. Fill them up with water (using a funnel to help). The water will seep gradually through the pots and keep the plants watered.

I also have some ceramic watering gizmos that screw onto a soda bottle and fit into a ceramic spike that keeps important plants like my lemon tree watered and is really handy when I want to give it a dose of liquid feed.

I have a link to some “ollas” (clay vase-looking things) if that doesn’t work out. I’ve seen the deal about using soda bottles.

It’s so hot here (I mean REALLY hot), I don’t know how well it would do. We might need to rig up some kind of drip system. We’re all going, but it would be back & forth for me, during the week & some weekends. I’d love to be that close to Crystal Beach (seaweed is wait high right now  )
It’s going to be wild. if it happens. We have a week & 10 zillion things on our plate to begin with.

grrr just found out the garden is full of fire ants (downside of rain) lol Wonder if it could take my roots & the beans with me. I want those turnips & beets!
