I was around 8 when it came out in 1982. I was riveted. I thought then as I do now that it was one of the best Sci-Fi/Film Noirs ever made. The only problem I had with the film was that they set it too soon in the future when it should’ve been at least a century away. I can’t imagine what sort of a story they’ll do with respect to a sequel.
The script off of Philip K. Dick was ok, it was the set design, the models, the costumes that were gorgeous, different and so visually impressive. To this day nothing in the sci-fi genre has surpassed it.
CGI can NEVER replicate that feel. CGI cannot create that atmosphere where you could almost smell the wet streets of L.A.
We can spot CGI a mile away, it looks fake and feels cartoonish. It in fact turns any attempt at noir sci-fi into a Warner Brother cartoon.
IF they`re smart they`ll know what made Blade Runner Blade Runner and it wasn`t the lead actor.
80 year old Han Solo running around is a joke, whether it’s in the future or a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.
Gay.
That's the same problem the global warming crowd has had. They set it too soon in the future and now that none of their nonsense has come to pass they look silly.
I was 22 when it came out.
Rutger Hauer has been around the block a few times as well. Always played an awesome bad guy - just had that menacing essence about him.
Daryl Hannah goes psychotic...

Neat flick, all in all. Different from the run of the mill sci-fi back then.
This one takes place last year.
