Hello gardeners. I have not posted on the gardening thread in quite awhile, but I have read every thread each week and keep up with all the news from the gardeners.

For the past two years or so I have not had a garden. I am now back at my home in Meridian, Ms and I planted my first garden in two years last week and I am very happy. It took lots of work to restart my garden plot. I Took soil samples and had them analyzed by the county agent and Ms State. I only needed to add a little nitrogen and potassium. I also removed my old PVC drip system and replaced it with a commercial system from https://www.dripworks.com and added an Ez Flo automatic fertilizing system to the set up. Nice system.

I am a homegrown tomato lover and have planted something like 32 + tomato plants along with a few pepper plants and zukes. I have only planted half the garden space I have had in the past. Just not as spry and energetic as I was just a few years ago. I may venture into the other half of the garden with some watermelon and acorn squash if I get a little more adventurous in the next week or so. All my tomato plants are heirloom and include Marion, San Marzano, Red Beefsteak, Black Prince and Arkansas Traveler. I also planted some Pimento Pepper and a few hot peppers.

Wishing y’all great gardening this year.

Nice to hear from you. You always leave such interesting posts. I wonder if Justadumbblonde will ever turn up again?

PS. Did you ever replace those beautiful dogs? We lost our Golden last year to Pancreatic Cancer. It was tough, and I’m still dogless.

I’ve been thinking about you and wondering if you were okay.

Glad to hear you’re getting your hands in the dirt.

I think you will be happy with your store bought drip system.

Thanks for posting RD. Great to hear from you. I was just thinking about you when I was posting the thread and wondering if you were getting back to gardening.

In a few weeks, you’ll probably get the urge to plant those squashes and melons, and they’ll quickly take care of covering the garden space you have left.LOL

Good to see you back here with us!

I was wandering the net today and found this:

It reminded me of your brewing threads ;)

Welcome Home RD 232! I buy all of my drip irrigation from Drip Works in Willits Cal and toured their warehouse a few years ago as they are about 200 miles south of us. Great service…

Great to see you!

Have you grown San Marzanos before? They were all the rage on the Food Network.

Congrats on your renewed ability to get back into gardening!

Thanks so much for the info on watering and fertilizer systems. I’ve been talking with Darlin about doing something like that this year. I appreciate the tips!
