Quinn and Rose are off the air, (returning to the airwaves soon, I hope!) Gone, but not forgotten! Meanwhile, our friendly group of dedicated FReeper Q&R fans will meet in our usual spot - same time, same station - as we always have! So grab your coffee - or whatever you choose to start your day - and drop in for some political chit-chat, or just to shoot the breeze! We are all coming from - or going to - work, but we all stop in to say hi! Feel free to join us!
RONALD REAGAN
Snap!
Good morning!
Primary day. Since I’m registered misc I don’t get to vote. My gut says McCord will be the next PA governor. Really hate to vote for Corbett in the general but...
No news is not good news..just a sign..
I’m still Republican. Wish we had a ‘conservative’ party. I’ll hold my nose and vote Corbett. IOW, same old, same old story.
Morning Greg!
OH, forgot to tell you; I started taking CoQ 10. Isn’t that what you’re taking? Bought Red Yeast Rice last night, but did some more research after reading the back of the bottle, and I don’t think I should. Haven’t seen a doctor in 20 years, and wouldn’t take it w/o a dr’s recommendation. A co-workers started taking it after her doc recommended it.
Going to return it - still unopened.
Yup. Looks like Q&R are not just waiting out the non compete.
Good morning. N ‘@!
20 years...you have me beat (17 here...as in youngest is 17!) have gone for bronchitis/pneumonia (asthma) but have avoided others like plague (pun intended). I grew up w/parents w/a lot of health issues...and somehow it made me anti-doctor (bad I know). I like the med express type places (for chest infections)...they ONLY treat what you complain of. Period. Rant off...the constant doctoring PADad nags me constantly. I am glad to learn of a kindred spirit :)
The primary. Sigh. ONLY Corbett on R side (I am still a R) in my County. I will force myself to vote. Same old same old...just don’t want Corbett (pinching my nose) to appear “weak” against Wolf or one of the other cast of loons from the far left. If any of them “win” there goes natural gas industry in PA.
You think McCord will win the Primary? The press says Wolf is way ahead.
Yeah...but I’m seeing a lot of McCord signs. No matter, Corbett will be lucky if he wins. Thanks GOPe!
Well, I gave a general number. It’s probably closer to your 17 years - but whose counting! :-) Last time I went, It was bacause of a really bad pain in stomach, right side and back. Doc sent me to the hospital for tests and I had an inflamed gall bladder - after eating at Long John Silvers. I have eaten there only once since and felt ill after that. Never again.
I’ll stick with supplements, thanks. Am also avoiding the doctor like the plague!
Daughter has a gall bladder problem they want to operate..trying a flush..first..any ideas..morning all..not sure about voting mad at em all..
Corbett lost me with the gasoline tax and from what I hear Harrisburg is 1.2 billion in the hole and new taxes could be coming around July 1st. We may not have to wait for a Dem governor to tax the energy industry directly in PA.
I’m writing in “Robert Guzzardi” for governor and “Daryl Metcalfe” for lt. governor.
No more voting for RINO’s.
Last year wasn’t just a bad year for Pittsburgh area radio listeners losing “Quinn and Rose” on a Clear Channel station. Bob Durgin, no friend of the RINO politicians, retired from Clear Channel’s WHP Radio in Harrisburg. I wonder what he would have said about the gas tax. “Bite me, Tom Corbett”
I’m generally against doctors ever since I went & asked for a referral to a nutritionist - I wanted to be able to eat healthy & this was before the internet was so easy to access. I got a prescription for orlistat & advice to get counseling for my depression (since I gained weight after my dad died). So, I didn’t fill the scrip & knew I wasn’t depressed. The other push is when I went to a nose doc because I had broken my nose as a kid & it was causing me snoring issues as an adult. The chubby doctor told me to lose weight, then admitted my nose was crooked....I had already lost 30 lbs when I had that visit. So, now, I try to eat healthy, drink lots of alkaline water, and use essential oils to treat any illness. Down 80 lbs (still have about 30 to go) & feeling better.
Plus, I look at my best friend, who has a bad heart (genetic) & is on 32 meds & has been diagnosed with everything but “kitchensink-itis” - her doctors do not know what to do with her, except prescribe pills. Ugh!
Hey Greg - there’s purple bows on all the light poles up and down Philadelphia Street. Any idea why? Not high up but about waist high on each pole.
still taking it..
Got me..
Looking around at the non-CC controlled stations in town:
Renda (WJAS/WSHH) does not like controversy by all accounts.
Steel City (WLTJ/WRRK) seems to be doing just fine in the ratings with a cheap, automated BOB format. So likely no need to bring Quinn back there.
Salem (WPIT/WORD) has a relationship with Rose but might find Jimmy’s act a little raw for the Christian audience.
Forever Broadcasting (Q&R not Froggy enough, I’m sure)
CBS (KDKA/TheFan) yeah, like THAT’LL happen!
So by my calculation that leaves:
KQV (if Bob Dickey’s kids are willing to ditch the all-news format)
WKHB (if Q&R want to shell out cash money for their time)
WDDZ (if someone out there is willing to pay the absurd price Disney would ask for it)
WAOB (if the rumor is true that St. Josephs is open to sell)
hmmmm.....maybe the Lefties had a point after all about too much media consolidation?
