I don’t see this as a good thing.

Don’t place any cash bets on this falling through. No way the NFL is going to turn off all those DirectTV viewers.

Me as well, I will go to where ever the NFL lands......I have a TV for the NFL and Special Report ...other than that there is no need.

I love me some DirecTV, but I would never pay a penny extra to watch Goodell’s pussified NFLPC....

Nice, we referred to our “mother ship” in san Antonio and then Dallas as the Death Star. Then I retired, still call it the death star

Corporations are becoming too big and powerful. They are just another big Government that will oppress.

A big chunk of those DirecTV viewers are there because NFL Sunday Ticket is there. If the NFL walks away, it won't be the NFL's loss - it'll be DirecTV's, and AT&T knows it.
So now we're down to the NFL preventing mergers which will reduce free-market competition.

I want Direct TV plus the fast internet for less than I am paying now for FIOS Triple play....

Me too, bud. I loathe ATT.

This merger isn’t nearly as anti-competition as the Comcast/NBCU/Time-Warner leviathan. Comcast will have unprecedented control over delivery, pricing and content, all while delivering the industry’s absolute worst customer service and technical competence.

That’s what we in the industry have been calling them since they came oit with that logo.
Interestingly, Cable &Wireless copied The Death Star for a while and now has a policy of simply spelling out the words.
