Schools work to help transgender students fit in

Isaac Barnett took a bold step last year: He told teachers and classmates at his Kansas high school that the student they had known as a girl now wanted to be accepted as a boy.

His close childhood friend, who also identified as transgender, was ready to reveal his secret, too. […]

With children rejecting the birth gender at younger ages and the transgender rights movement gaining momentum, schools in districts large and small, conservative and liberal, are working to help transitioning youth fit in without a fuss.

California this year became the first state with a law spelling out the transgender student rights in public schools, including the ability to use restrooms and to play on sports teams that match their expressed genders. …

I read where some public schools are spending almost $30,000 per year per student. So a classroom of 20 students cost taxpayers $600,000 per year?

I am over the age of 50 and I’ve never met even one transgendered person. How about these so-called educators focusing on the 99.999% where they are FAILING?

Can I ask why we need to do this?

I don’t understand all of the “LGBT” agenda issues, obviously.

But, it occurs to me that this stuff has no place in schools.

Meaning, that we should just deal with male students and female students.

If someone really feels like a girl in a boy’s body and all of that, stow it until you are legally an adult. Then, go explore with the mental health professionals and doctors as to what your condition is.

Ditto, this talk of “gay” students. If they really feel they are gay, save it until they graduate, then head on down to The Castro, if they so desire, and explore that lifestyle to their heart’s content.

I just see no need to deal with any of this in school with school age children.

Flame away.

I can just imagine a teenage comedy movie coming out of Hollywood on this subject.

In the movie, totally straight boys announce they are trans-whatevers, so that they can go into the girls bathroom and girls locker room. And hilarity ensues..........

And the politically correct types would have a meltdown, because they would be angry that anyone would make fun of this subject like that.

Hilarity ensues, eh. Funny how that is always relative to the audience.

Yes, I can just see it.

"Attention parental units...we need to talk..."

I'm sure this happens all of the time.

Just read an article about the drag queen Eurovision winner, Tom Wirth a.k.a. Conchita Wurst. His mother used to dress him up like this and take his picture:

and like this...

If that isn't evidence of the sexual manipulation of a child by his sick mother, ....

“children rejecting the birth gender at younger ages”

No flames from me-kids should not even be allowed to reject oatmeal for breakfast at a “young age”, much less their gender. Parents who don’t know the first thing about the basic workings of a child’s mind, and want to be a friend rather than a parent are the problem-not gender issues.

A few conversations with the kid, explaining the difference between boys and girls, gently standing them in front of a full length mirror at bath time, having them see why they are the gender they are, and acknowledge that gender would do a world of good-they will get over this attention getting fixation soon enough, as long as they are not screamed at and scolded. And be sure to remove them from the influence of adults encouraging this look-at-me-behavior-I’d get an attorney, if it came to that.

Buying a book or two on parenting that was published before around 2000, and reading it several times should provide some lessons in proper parenting, as well...

Once the kid is 18-an adult-they can do whatever they want, and the consequences and expenses of their choices are theirs.

MrT5 was stationed in SanFran during his military career, and I certainly agree that the Castro district is the perfect place for a homosexual or gender-confused young adult to explore their options-talk about being scared straight...

Whatever happened to the peanut-butter allergy scare from about 10 years ago? If you remember, we were banning kids from taking peanut-butter sandwiches to school and all peanut products were getting removed from school cafeterias and vending machines. All this fuss because a zero-point-something percentage of kids were identified as "peanut allergic."

Before you know it, all these crazed "Münchausen syndrome by proxy" moms started coming out of the woodwork to holler and screech about how their poor children were being exposed to these evil peanuts in school and how, gosh-darn it, all the rest of us had to do something about it so that their precious children could be safely quarantined in "peanut-free" zones.

I don't know about you but I don't remember hearing about a single student that ever died because one of his classmates unwrapped a Reese's peanut butter cup in his presence out in the school yard.

Now the flavor of the moment for the "Münchausen syndrome by proxy" crowd is that their little boys like to wear dresses and heels to school and damn it, the rest of us better accept that fact and make special accommodations for their "little princesses". Never mind the fact that these mentally deranged moms forced the feminization of their little boys because either they wanted a girl instead of a boy or because they knew that by doing so, they might gain some celebrity for themselves and maybe get on the Oprah show. Or a combination of both.

Anyway, I'm sick of this culture of "I'm special and you must accommodate me, or else". Used to be you send your kids to school to learn and they obeyed the rules or they got punished - both at school AND at home.

” He told teachers and classmates at his Kansas high school that the student they had known as a girl now wanted to be accepted as a boy.”

No. More like

He told teachers and classmates at his Kansas high school that the student they had known as a girl now demanded to be addressed and treated as a boy. Any mistakes would be punished.

..without any adult input..
Id even go so far as to say guidance, input can be largely ignored and is because so many of today’s parents lack an understanding of parenting and possess even less of the fortitude necessary to stick with it, which is the hardest but most important aspect of parenthood.
My wife’s friend has a 3 yr old and claims that she will come tell her when it’s time for a diaper change. I said well it’s starting to soil her pants, I think she’s ready...
she replied, “NO, she’ll tell me when SHE’S ready”..
..at 3 she has already become the parent
..at 3 she knows what’s best for her
Wonder what she’s gonna be like in 10 years

Behind every “transgendered” kid is a bat$hit insane mother that either initiated it or pandered to it.

And if there is even one, look for a ball-less “dad”. They never seem to want to talk about it like the gushing moms. They really are pathetic.

Like how the hell would a child even know enough to even reach a conclusion like this unless these sudo-pedos weren’t helping it along?

With the ADA legislation, mentally ill children have to be accepted in public schools too.

I agree, the same sex prom students, the transgender year book photos, it will never go away.

I am so glad I didn’t grow up in the Facebook generation.
