“”The suspect failed to surrender and after officers observed him reaching or his waist band,”
Sounds like a simple case of suicide by cop. If you are going to be in a standoff and going to reach for stuff, be prepare to be baptized by lead.
But is his dog okay?
More Fullerton Police Academy graduates. And they didn’t have to go far to attend.
I used to ride my bike right past there every day. A guy was killed in a drive-by right behind my place. One Sunday afternoon while watching football, I had my patio door open and heard a police radio. I stepped outside and looked down to see a cop draped across the top of his patrol car, gun drawn. He looked up at me and waved at me to go back inside. I’m glad I’m out of the LBC.
Now go shave your heads again, shoot some dogs, beat your wives, drive drunk, and enjoy the high for now.
For one day soon, the consequences will be brutal.
The incident began about 2:45 p.m. Sunday at a Target store in the 1600 block of South Alameda Street in Compton where sheriff's deputies were assisting security officers in detaining a man who allegedly tried to commit a robbery at the store, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said in a press release.
As deputies assisted security officers, the man "pulled out a large pair of scissors" - apparently garden shears - from his waistband, then fled to a SUV and drove away from the area with authorities in pursuit
The SUV came to a stop in the 1800 block of East Ocean Boulevard in Long Beach, where deputies said the man refused to come out of the vehicle. About 15 minutes later, the man got out of the SUV allegedly holding a large wooden stick.
In an attempt to detain the uncooperative suspect, the press release said, deputies used a stun bag, but it had no effect on the man, and he again ran from deputies
Witnesses told NBC4 that the suspect did not appear to be aggressive
Not aggressive? Sad to see the guy lose his life but he was given multiple opportunities to surrender.
Don't blame the cops on this one.
“It keeps happening.”
This is why when I hear about a cop getting shot, I really could care less... Live by the sword, die by the sword.
Pigs, what ya gonna do.....
Long Beach is going to be writing a huge check. This type of case was settled by the U.S. Supreme Court in Garner v. Tenn., 471 U.S. 1 (1985)
Here is the link to the Garner case; and it is taught in every law enforcement use of force training class in the country.

“reaching for his waist band”
Again?
The kops claim there were shots fired but the person fleeing had no weapons in his hand...Obviously it wasn’t him that was shooting...It likely was the kops behind him, shooting at him...
Looks like the runner did the only thing he could do to try to save his life...When the kops are out to kill you, they won’t stop even if they have to burn you out...
Go to the following link about the 2:00 minute mark and see what happens. This guy is
running down an outside stairway fleeing the premises and is shot when he get near
the bottom. He was posing no threat, imo. Now there maybe other things not seen in
the video that would counter my observation.

“The suspect failed to surrender and after officers observed him reaching or his waist band, an officer involved shooting occurred”
I’m calling bullshit with that one. Every time they screw up, it is “He was reaching for his waistband.” Pigs teach each other the words to say when they kill someone. Same for that Wesley Chapel prick who killed a man in a movie theater.
And if they heard a gun shot, why is he reaching for his waistband?
