Neat!
A cheap binocular microscope will allow you to do amazing stuff, and you’d be amazed how steady your hands can be when everything is magnified.
I’ve been meaning to try those, I think I will pick up a set the next time I see one. (If I see them that is...:-) )
Very nice.
You live in a small town where everybody knows you by name, from the mailman to the policeman to the bank teller at the small town bank (and he looks a lot like Jimmy Stewart).
You own a home on a tree-lined street and you walk about 7 blocks "downtown" to work each day, where you work a non-descript job for a decent salary. You take your lunch at one of the several diners in the downtown area, where you are a regular and everybody knows your name.
You leave work at a decent hour and you stop along the way home to have a beer or two with the guys. Beer is 50 cents a draft. You might shoot a game of pool or darts.
You then go home to a wife that looks like Donna Reed and you have a full meal waiting for you with two or three well-scrubbed and well-behaved children. After dinner, you take the dog for a walk (a golden retriever) around the neighborhood. You then settle in for some newspaper reading or perhaps the Ed Sullivan Show. Or a ballgame.
You spend your Saturday mornings in the garage, fussing with your stylish automobile. Maybe waxing it or changing the oil. You make a few repairs around the house. Neighbors come by to say hello. You get invited to a cookout and spend the afternoon eating burgers and hot dogs and sipping some beers while the kids swim in the outdoor pool or get up a game of baseball in a nearby field.
On Sundays, after church, you take the family on a long drive in your stylish automobile. Maybe to a picnic. Maybe to the beach.
Then on Monday morning, your perfect week starts all over again.
Was such a life every possible or does it only exist in our dreams?
