I quit watching several seasons ago when the Red John plot line got so ridiculous (to me).

I enjoyed the "Mentalist," but they did run the Red John thing into the ground. I thought the show "Life" was superior, which barely lasted two seasons.

An interesting thing about "Life," they knew they were going to be cancelled, so they wrapped up the continuing storyline in the last episode.
