I used to buy my comics from a pharmacy on Route 30 downtown; back in the days of spinner racks. They used to give the locals a free ride on the chairlift up Mt. Morris once a year. You could sit on your butt and slide down the falls where Bog River entered the south end of Big Tupper.

For kids, it was more fun than Detroit. :-)

That would be Monakey and Meaders Pharm IIRC and yes the Bog was fun. Many a drunken night in my misspent youth there.

I just watched a couple vids as I said and the old Ginsburg building looks ready to collapse. It’s really sad what happened to it...the town in general. But with the jobs all but eliminated, no one has the cash to fix squat and the Adirondack Park Agency is worse than the BLM with their regulations. So no one has a reason to invest there.

They are literally driving people out to ‘reclaim the land’.
