Firing Squad Or Hanging? AG Candidate Wants Death Penalty For Corrupt Lawmakers
CBS Sacramento ^ | 4/4/2014

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) – A Republican candidate for California attorney general said Friday that state lawmakers who are found guilty of crimes that endanger the lives of others should face the death penalty.

Phil Wyman, who spent 17 years in the state Legislature, said he was motivated by the case of Democratic Sen. Leland Yee. Yee faces federal charges that include an attempt to coordinate an international gun-running scheme from the Philippines.

Wyman also criticized Democratic Attorney General Kamala Harris for being “silent as a mouse” on the corruption cases that have marred the state Senate this year. A campaign spokesman for Harris declined comment.

Wyman said in a news release and subsequent telephone interview that the “most egregious” abusers of their public office, if convicted, should be able to choose their method of death – public hanging, firing squad or lethal injection – as a deterrent to others.

How long would either of those lines be?

Line 1. For the corrupt lawmakers. Line 2. Those who would volunteer to do the shooting.

I'm sure Line 2 would stretch to the moon and back.

I’ll provide the rope and gladly open the trap door.

What kind of nut cases do they grow in CA? The guys on the Right should understand that, just like “benevolent” Bush’s socialism set the table for not so benevolent Obama, so this kind of semi-well-meaning nonsense sets the table for Communist-style mass murder of its own citizens.

This is probably the third time I posted this remark...But this would probably be the most appropriate time, considering the related story...

Leland Yee should be SHOT by a firing squad using the very weapons he smuggled into this country.

Did you see the poll in the article? Almost 58% agree to kill them all.

Just cutting taxes 1% from a fixed baseline per perp should clear the problem up in a couple of years.

Yes, as much as I would like to see corrupt officials dangle, it would invite too much abuse by even more corrupt leaders in the future.
Don't give them that tool. Long jail sentences is fine with me.
This is not North Korea. Not yet anyway.

Yee should be made to walk the Mexican border with a target on his back. Those who live by selling guns to Mexican drug lords should die by those guns.

That goes for a lot of what the Right wants to comprise to get back at the bad guys. Pretty soon you can’t tell the good guys from the bad guys. And the bad guys will gladly take anything the Right constructively sends their way.

The poll numbers look pretty good for a state capitol news outlet. Probably in the Central Valley areas devastated by the politician-caused drought, the "Yes" votes might run toward the higher 90's percent.

Yes, a strong message needs to be sent 58.05% (5,279 votes)

Yes, but only in the most egregious cases 21.86% (1,988 votes)

No, public floggings are much more fun 9.97% (907 votes)

No, this is a crazy idea to grab attention 8.84% (804 votes)

Maybe, I'm feeling indecisive today and probably shouldn't determine the fate of others. 1.28% (116 votes)

Total Votes: 9,094

Wyman should scream as loud as he can for as long as he can about Harris, who is by FAR the most corrupt, ideologically bent, CRIMINALLY MALFEASANT AG in California history.

This is the woman who refused to press charges against Mommy who threw her 3 sons into the Bay off the Embarcadero when she was the SF DA.

Harris thinks Murder is a Misdemeanor...as long as the perp is non-white.

Wow, the death penalty.

That would create a whole bunch of open seats.

I don't see why you can't have a flogging first, then a hanging. That gets you another 10% of the public on board.

As wonderful as this would be it isn’t really going to resonate with voters. Even though we just had the Leland Yee corruption, would anyone trust the corrupt government with death penalty ability?
