I’ve heard that gay activists blame Reagan for the AIDS epidemic. They claim he was slow to take action as AIDS went through the homosexual community in the early to mid 80s. And Reagan was president then. So,based on the criteria of liberals, anything bad happening during a Republican administration is the fault of that president.
The activists claim that Reagan was slow to authorize funding for R & D for AIDS drugs, and that he perpetuated the stigma against homosexuality, etc.
That’s almost hilarious, but for the topic of course. So two guys screw around in San fransicko and get ( give themselves, many would say) sickness And 3000 miles away the President of the a United States of America comes in for blame? I’d like to think that, while compassionate, a president would be primarily focused on the constitutional duties of the office ( like national defense, for starters) Besides, many of the homosexuals decided to just keep exposing themselves to Aids Is it A President ‘s fault or responsibility some guys choose to, well, keep unzipping their pants in Californicate.? Whether the federal government has a proper role or not in taxing us for medical research spending is an interesting question. Whether thus spending should include funds to heal voluntarily- acquired ailments is a second interesting question. I personally say OK but many dissent.
