Did Texas Rangers fans use the statue of tragically deceased fan Shannon Stone and his son Cooper as their opening day trash can? It sure looks like, and if so, we have a winner for the most disgusting photo from an MLB ballpark on baseball's first day.
If you've forgotten the story of the Stones, it's a horribly sad one: Shannon Stone fell to his death at a Rangers game in 2011, trying to catch a ball for his 6-year-old son, Cooper. Former Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton tossed the ball toward the Stones, who were in the left-field stands, and Shannon lost his balance, landing headfirst. The Rangers honored Shannon, a firefighter of 18 years in Brownwood, Tx., with a statue unveiled in April 2012.
Two years later, it looks like that? How quickly Rangers fans forget.
It's opening day, people of the right age have every right to guzzle a few before hitting their seats. Can't blame anyone for that heck, it was Budweiser that wanted to make opening day a holiday, so obviously beer is a part of the fan experience. But having a good time at a baseball game shouldn't mean common decency goes out the window. Finding an actual trash can couldn't have been that hard, could it, Rangers fans?

Ugh.
And I thought they were leaving offerings!
Did they set a waist high flat surface by a line that people with empty cans have to walk past?
Flat surfaces get filled up with stuff.
And I thought they were leaving offerings!
Especially when they are right in front of the gate whereyou cannot bring in drinks.
No kidding. People do strange, sometimes outlandish, things when confronted with their mortality.
Move the no drinks line back.
Yeah, kinda like, I had one at the game for Buddy! Yeah, that's the ticket! Why everyone bein so down on the boys, they just have a brew in da dudes memory!
Searched and found only one Texas Rangers player ever named Walker. He was only on the roster in 1985 for part of the season. The TV show first aired in 1993. FYI Trivia.
How could they overlook something so obvious.
The video of Mr. Stone falling made me cry each time I saw the little boy sitting there all alone, confused by all the activity.
Tragic.

Yeah, kinda like, I had one at the game for you Buddy! Yeah, that's the ticket! Why everyone bein so down on the boys, they just have a brew in da dudes memory!
I hate it when fingers don't type what I want! Stupid fingers!
Callous people — those Rangers fans.
It’s crass on so many levels.
Are the garbage guys union? In Texas? Are the fans insinuating the guy was drunk when he fell?
I bet they quit throwing balls into the stands.
Really? Don't try to have a few in Angel stadium parking lot, they have cops that sneak around trying to give you open container and drinking in public tickets. If you hide it in cups they will come around and want to look in your cup and smell for alcohol even if it's empty.
Now days we park in the parking lot across the street and party all we want.
FU Angel stadium.
Dodger stadiums even worse. You are not allowed to remain at your car before the game, no tailgating of any kind allowed there. you are told you must leave and go into the stadium as soon as you park. In both cases it's because they've had too much problems with gangbangers getting drunk and starting fights and such. Hate to say it but my homestate of California sucks because of all the gangs these days.
I’d be much more worried about the hundreds of thousands of illegals and their supporters turning the Alamo into a medica clinica for pregnant illegals.
What is this weird concept of giant stadium owned parking lot you speak of? /Red Sox
