Former President Jimmy Carter has a new crusade: the fight for the human rights of women and girls worldwide, particularly against oppression driven by religious zealotry. It is a worthy cause -- but unfortunately compromised by Carter's insistence that modern Western democracies are just as guilty of sexism as authoritarian regimes dominated by medieval fundamentalism.

well, he’s right when it comes to the us. look how we oppress women.
we don’t let them sign up for selective service. my son gets the honors of maybe being drafted, but women have to decide, do they want to enlist or not.
we make women have to decide, do I want to work or be a stay at home mom. men don’t gave to stress over that decision, their only choice is to work.
and we make them decide between traditionally male dominated careers and mostly female careers. I think my sons friends would have something to say if he picked a womans job.
yes, there’s too much pressure in the us on women to make choices.
Cathy Young reported that Norway's Anton Brevik was allegedly influenced by the anti jihad movement in gunning down people in Norway; however, she didn't report Brevik's latest admission that he said that after his mass murder to smear the counter jihad movement. Cathy Young never reported Anton Brevik's latest admission and probably still uses that not as an example of bigotry against Muslims.
Just an easy out for him not to concentrate on dealing with the Muslims that would kill him.
