Well sorry for his loss, but how is he different of all the rest of us who have lost someone, other than Glenn being a celebrity of sorts. My Dad passed away at 90 after a life of many, many years of hard work and service but no one put out a press release for me.

Glenn is no different from the rest of us. When we know someone, however remotely, we sympathize with the sorrows in that person’s life.

Those of us who watch Glenn’s show knew what was happening. Perfectly normal that he would put out the word that his father had passed.

Blessings to Glenn and his family.

ok. I'm sorry for your loss. Happy?

Does it really matter if someone that doesn't know you or your dad mourn your loss?

My dad passed away and I could care less what anybody though about my dad passing. I just knew that I had lost a trusted advisor, wise mentor, real hard ass, loving grandfather/father/husband/son, and great guy. Bunch of Marines came to the funeral, lined up, shot their rifles and gave my mom a flag.

If every member of congress, the President, all the supreme court justices and the entire readership of the New York Times had been there it would have been a pale lonely comparison to those Marines, his family and friends. Those are the only ones that really matterer in his life and to me.

so if you think by making a snarky little comment about some dad's passing makes you somehow feel "better".... ok. more power to you brother. Somebody's dad died. We're all a little worse of if he was a good guy and better off if he were a a#@hole, either way I'm pretty sure they could care less what any press clipping or other person thinks.

God Bless Your Dad. May he rest in eternal peace.

I lost my Mom at 87 (RN) 2 yrs ago. Dad turns 90 in 2 weeks, WWII Battle of The Bulge Vet, wounded and decorated.

Our Parents are our Heros; reminds me of an old saying:

“Not everyone can be a hero. Most of us have to stand on the curb and cheer as the heroes go by.”

Wow.

My Dad, a two time CIB, Purple Heart and Bronze Star awardee got three inches in the local paper. A Color Guard and a bugler. There were 300 people at his funeral and we were greatful.

I have no animosity towards public figures and their families for getting more attention.

Why does this bother you so?

I can only speak for myself, but I never had a CEO or press secretary.

Maybe you should hire a press agent.

I’m sorry for your loss too. I don’t know Glenn or you but I am terribly sorry that both of you lost your dads.

Well I would guess that Glenn is as heartbroken as you and I were when our Dad’s passed. My Dad’s funeral was standing room only.
