Never been to Vegas, but I spent an afternoon in Atlantic City in the late 80s. Superficially glitzy cheapness and tacky all rolled into one big ball of sleaze. The bag ladies from New York ran the slots, while Asians from Japan and Hong Kong were at the craps and roulette tables repatriating our money by giving it to the mob.
I spent $20 at the slots, and immediately wondered how I could get those five minutes of my life back.
I have no desire to go to Vegas.
I spent 75 cents on slots.
