That’s in around 3500 feet of water and I’m not sure you would get any measurable seismic readings from a surface impact.

To clarify my 'interesting' comment: I find it interesting that that statement would be put out there by University of Science and Technology of China & USGS...with a published depth of 10km.

As I was saying late last night, the U.S. Navy’s acoustic sensor network would have picked up the big splash. By triangulation, software would then establish the location and also estimate the size and speed of the aircraft.
