I could never understand the type of person that would own one of these beast.
When I lived out in the country in west Tennessee, only a few black kids had pit bulls, their thinking it was cool. Fortunately, the dogs lasted only a few days before being run over on the highway.

Parents should always be over cautious about having dogs in the house with small children. My brother gave away his retired police K-9 when his son was born. The dog was perfectly obedient but he could be aggressive. The dog most likely would have been fine with the baby but why take the chance.
