Michael Sam unimpressive at NFL Scouting Combine, struggles in 40-yard dash and weight room
NY Daily News ^ | February 25, 2014 | Ebenezer Samuel

Michael Sam — who is hoping to become the first openly gay player in NFL history — made a good impression during his media press conference on Saturday. But on on the field Monday he couldn't do the same thing. Sam needed to show he has more athleticism, but the suddenly scrutinized Missouri defensive end struggled to do that.

The ESPN hyperfocus and tweets/interviews of all the of the left wing annoys me

Ditto.. it annoys me, too. The general reaction has been, "He's gay? Oh." But that doesn't suffice for the social engineers of the left. They demand EVERYONE celebrate this as some kind of blessed event. And when we don't, then out come the charges of "homophobe," "bigot," etc.

Looking in at the NFL Combine, I find Sam with a rating of 5.22, ( NFL backup or special teams potential ) about middle of the pack or average. Just a slight step above a 50-50 chance of being drafted. Should be interesting to see if a team bows to PC pressure and drafts him instead of using good football sense. If he’s good enough to be on a pro team without the hype, then so be it.

A way to reclaim the word “gay”, meaning “happy, carefree” would be for all potential draftees to declare they are: “gay”

And if they have a happy streak, then they’d be telling the truth.

It would also prevent a slow, otherwise not draftable athlete from being drafted for political reasons instead of for athletic prowess.

It’s so obvious that the NFL is homophobic or Sams would be doing better.

What is funny is the homosexuals hijacked that word. Now thew are behind a campaign to eliminate the word gay when used in statements like “That’s so gay”.

Maybe he gets taken in the fourth round, but I kinda doubt that he’s still playing NFL football in four years. He’s a gimmick for some team, who needs to fill 4,000 empty seats with fresh new fans. End of story.

My hunch is that a "progressive" owner, such as Obama-loving Rooney of the Steelers, will insist his team draft Sam if he's still available in a late round.

A purely political pick, in other words.

I don’t think a single person would buy a ticket to see Sam play. In fact if a team drafts him, they’d probably lose season ticket holders.

As soon as he announced he was a homosexual prior to the draft I knew what was going to happen.

This person knew up front he was not cut out for the NFL so he is pressuring them to draft him because now the homosexual crowd and the worthless Media will start to hammer the NFL for being anti-homosexual if they do not hire him.

This is just another form of worthless Affirmative Action.

Sam was always a fourth round pick, at best, that’s why he chose to play the sodomy card. He got what he and his agent wanted, tons of attention and pressure on someone - anyone - in the NFL to draft him.

In the most calculating and crafty of ways Michael Sam is leveraging his homosexuality into the public eye. He may likely be a total bust in the NFL, but Michael Sam will be called “the first” and will earn unending adulation and attention that he and his agent will turn into cash.

What is the only reason that Jason Collins got a 10 DAY contract? For no other reason whatsoever than to legitimize him by forevermore forcing everyone to refer to him as, “former NBA player, Jason Collins”. It’s a total scam, but’s that’s how the Left works, through deceit.

Maybe that’s why he came out. To assure himself a high pick in the draft and a hefty signing bonus.

First Tebow and now this clown.

Tebow had a helluva great college career, and led his team to two national championships. He deserved at least a look, by NFL teams, which is what he got. We later learned that Tebow wasn't a good fit, but that's not the NFL's fault. Regardless of his playing ability, Tebow earned quite a following, though not as much as a football player.

I don't see this Sam as being in the same boat.

A quick lesson from history on why "diversity" isn't necessarily a good thing.

He struggled in the 40 because stopwatches hate gays.

Also, free weights hate gays too. The homophobia is obvious.

A ten day contract? That is what he now has? All that hubbub and all he gets is a contract like that?

If the NFL is now going to select players to promote “diversity” rather than talent; its time to bring back white players on defense! Caucasians are terribly under-represented in the average NFL defensive line-up, probably by a margin of 9 blacks for every 2 whites.
