Ain't that the truth? A bud of mine is an FBI grunt who chases bad guys, the worst of the worst. He wasn't allowed any time off during the sequester because he is considered "essential personnel."

The "non-essential personnel", on the other hand, get to collect full back pay for their sequester days and have none of it charged to their personal vacation. He couldn't tell me why they got hired or keep their jobs if the are "non-essential personnel".
