My mother had us kids swallow a little Vicks Vapor Rub when we had bad chest congestion, in addition to putting on the outside of the chest. I survived, but looking back, that may have been a bit overboard. LOL.

Vicks VapoRub was a staple in our house. Mom would slather it all over our chests and backs. We used to sniff it through the nose to relieve nasal congestion.

I guess someone overdid the sniffing because it's not allowed anymore.

Those new Vicks Vapor electric wall plug-ins are miracles! Whenever my kids or any of us have a bad cough, you plug one of those things in and it is just about an instant good night sleep.

LOL...our mom did the same. We’d beg not to have to do that. We’d even read aloud from the label...NOT TO BE USED INTERNALLY!!
