Dustin Brown banged in a go-ahead goal late in the first period and the United States went on to dominate the Czech Republic 5-2 Wednesday, earning a spot in the Olympic hockey semifinals for the second straight time.

A Scandinavian semifinal and a North American semifinal.
The Slavs are out of metal contention.

I don't know why these are spoilers. The game was played live on television.
The Canada-Latvia game was controversial. Canada scored the winning goal on a power play resulting from a non-existent penalty; earlier, Latvia's Sotnieks grabbed the puck and tucked it under the goalie, which should have resulted in a penalty shot for Canada.
Kristers Gudlevskis almost died of rubber poisoning in goal for Latvia. 57 shots for Canada.

That was a breeze. Now for the floppy heads.
Canada nearly lost to Latvia, so we should crush the Canucks.
