Many job seekers have dropped out of the labor force not because they've gotten discouraged, but by choice.
The unemployment rate has been declining, in part because of a declining labor participation rate. A new analysis of Bureau of Labor Statistics data by global outplacement consultancy Challenger, Gray and Christmas finds the biggest decline in labor force participation is among 16- to 19-year-olds. It's down to a record low 30.4 percent.
But contrary to reports that job seekers have gotten discouraged and dropped out, many of them just don't want a job. Of the 11.6 million teens not in the labor force, only about 8.3 percent said they want a job. Less than one percent indicated they were discouraged.

I dropped a resume a week for the job I have now. I guess they were tired of seeing my emails and resumes and called me in for a interview

“The unemployment rate has been declining, in part because of a declining labor participation rate.”
Not “in part”, but entirely. There has not been an increase in employment in any measure.

“Yeah LoL. More likely, all snugly in front of the X box and mom and dad are giving everything to Precious Little Snowflake.”
Yep, that’s my 23 year old nephew all right. He can’t cook, clean, repair, maintain, or do any sort of paperwork; not even sure if he can drive. He’ll still be living at home when his parents croak, and then after that I guess he’ll become yet another burden on the taxpapers, or at least a burden on the Fed printing presses if they are still turning out anything valued more than toilet paper by then.
My kids can attest to that. I have two adult daughters. Both moved back to where we used to live before the economy forced me to move several states away.
One just moved there in December. She got a temp job at an insurance office within about 3 weeks. She was then hired part time at Krispy Kreme. On day one, she decided she didn’t like it and had an interview at Walgreen, where she was hired for 30 hours a week. She told htem she was compelled to give two weeks notice at KK. The Walgreen manager was very impressed by that.
It ain’t hard if you try.
