U.S. men’s hockey team takes down Russians 3-2 in epic shootout

SOCHI, Russia — T.J. Oshie scored four times in the shootout and got the winner in the eighth round, leading the United States past Russia 3-2 Saturday in the thrilling revival of an Olympic hockey rivalry.

Cam Fowler and Joe Pavelski scored in regulation for the Americans in the marquee game of the preliminary round. Jonathan Quick made 29 saves and stopped five attempts in the shootout.

Good news.

I forgot they were playing this morning.

I haven’t watched much of the Olympics this time. It does seem that every time I switch over to the Olympics program, I tune in just in time to see another athlete going SPLAT!

Almost every time I tuned in they were in a commercial or just ready to go to one.

Not the Miracle On Ice, but a damn exciting game. I'm split between us having a chance to eliminate them in the medal round or simply having Russia eliminated in pool play.

It was very nice to have us beat them in Russia. Czar/Tsar Vladimir is not pleased.
