Aging America heading for disaster
New York Post ^ | February 8, 2014 | Kyle Smith

To really understand what’s going on with the American economy, don’t look at the headlines. Don’t look at the unemployment rate or the trade balance or the deficit. Don’t even look at what’s happening today at all: Look at what happened 46 years ago.

And what happened then? Fewer Americas were being born, points out Harry S. Dent Jr. in “The Demographic Cliff: How to Survive and Prosper During the Great Deflation of 2014-2019”

"Don’t blame politicians, the decline of manufacturing, education or cheap foreign imports for the economic stagnation that has already begun and will continue for many years. Blame your parents and grandparents for losing interest in having children back in the Sixties."

We've aborted away in excess of 51 million people in the last 40 years. What did we think would happen?

"Blame your parents and grandparents for losing interest in having children back in the Sixties.""

Our saddest happening is that our best and brightest women have not had 3-4 children.

What a negative article.

There is always a bright side to life. If there are more old people, there are more more wise people. In fact, I am significantly smartly than when I was in my 20's...and I still like to work.;-)

How true. Now just imagine what the ChiComs are facing after half a century of their asinine One Child policy.

“Depressing” would probably be a more accurate choice of words.

Right now, older Americans and those who are rapidly aging are heavily reliant or will relay on their IRAs and 401Ks. If things go south, watch as millions will demand that "Something be done" about it.

"Don’t look at the unemployment rate or the trade balance or the deficit. Don’t even look at what’s happening today at all...'Don’t blame...the decline of manufacturing,...or cheap foreign imports'"

And that's what the article was about.

Yep, this is exactly why the borders are wide open. We killed off our own population.

Actually the pill and JFK’s 1965 Immigration Act came at about the same time, the flood of the world into our nation was legislated to defeat the American voters, not to compensate for some disappearing population.

absolutely....the ones who are healthy and intelligent or athletic just are not having children....

the ones having children are often the lowest rungs of society...mating with other low end people.....and look what we get....

my family dynamics are this...my mother comes from a family of 10....she had 6....I had 3...and from the looks of it, from those 3, I'll have only 2 grandchildren......

Yes, it started earlier, but immigration initially was a small amount. Kennedy swore that it wouldn’t be used to upset the racial balance of the country despite the quotas set-they were all from third world countries. Without border control the flood was even worse. All of it intentional of course.

my husband watches these hunting shows....these so called rugged men have very few children...one couple has exactly ONE...

I notice that too about some very large athletic manly men I know...they are not producing children....one if their lucky...

we're just too selfish to want our lives bothered by children....

my husband's great grandfather was raised in North Dakota territory...back then the German immigrants would have two sets of children...the first 10 with wife number one until she died, and then another 10 with the second wife....

from that dynamic to what we have today....

I notice too that the white population anyway is getting increasingly thin, small, less athletic, less robust, less ambitious...

is it because the perfect mates are these petite little thin things?....the perfect female being a size 8 or smaller.....just wondering....

JFK wanted to overcome the protestant vote through immigration, which the democrats had only won twice, and the birth rate was just fine during the many years that he was pushing to change immigration.

The women are getting huge, big and fat, even the teen girls that we should be ogling, are mostly flabby and fat.

American women don’t want to have babies like they used to do.

I guess aborting 55 million people wasn't the smartest of policies.
