I've read this multiple places - Obama is sending.....
Am I missing something? Don't athletes have to earn their place on the team? Or does Obama really have a say in the matter?

While I don’t know about Kaho, Boitano hasn’t competed in years and isn’t part of the team. His presence as part of the US delegation is purely symbolic.
These are members of the US delegation who aren't competing. Usually they are former Olympians like Brian Boitano. Billy Jean King was also on the list, but her mother's ill so she didn't go. here.
I don't really get it myself. Why is this a head of governments's responsibility or power? Isn't there some separation of state and sport?
The athletes don’t build the team, someone else builds it, namely hussein.
Seeing the vid just now, yes, he’s flying high.
If the media think it’s a good thing, them Obama is a dictator calling every shot with total control. If it’s a bad thing, Obama never knew about it and action is out of his hands.
