Another phone scam tried us recently - a guy with an Indian sounding accent says he’s from Microsoft and they have detected a problem with your computer and he needs to access it for repairs. Microsoft doesn’t call you at home, so don’t fall for it.

You need to brush up on your Hindi cursing. I used to get those calls then I figured out how to reply in Hindi. Hilarity ensued. No more calls.

I got a call last week from the 423 area code and like I said I never answer calls from numbers that I do not recognize. But I type the number in search to find out what the number is from.
Several peoples were exactly saying what you did, about a guy with an Indian sounding accent and microsoft

Another phone scam tried us recently - a guy with an Indian sounding accent says hes from Microsoft and they have detected a problem with your computer and he needs to access it for repairs I was visiting my parents a few weeks back and my father handed me the phone after it rang; same 'support' a$$hats. I played along, all through going through the event viewer and filtering errors, right up until he sent me to a remote access site. I then laid into him, yelling "HANG UP/HANG UP" interspersed with expletives until he terminated the call.
footnote: Viewing the Event Viewer as a result of the call alerted me that my parents' laptop was experiencing severe errors in IE (thousands of errors). Fixed that for them. Ironic.
