Peyton went into that game with a wound, it wasn't a physical wound but one his own team mates delivered by making him look like a bully and insufferable task master.

They claimed he would give them 'pop quizes' on what to look for in a game, they said they were afraid of him, they said they would try to avoid him and he would interject himself in every aspect of the game.

That may be true but he brought the whiners into the super Bowl with his knowledge of the game.

He went into this game with those remarks ringing in his head and, in my opinion, resolved to just do HIS job and let his 'team' mates do theirs.

Although he had the option to call plays, he didn't call them even when he saw clearly what the hawks defense would do.

He didn't rush up and down his line hollering out what to look for and, personally, I don't blame him...let THEM figure out what to do.

He let his omnipotent coach call the shots, after all, did he get his support when he was being sullied by his team mates?

Did the owners step in to support him?

No, they let him appear to be a pariah, erroneously thinking, he will be the same quarterback who brought them into the 'super' Bowl.

You may say, he was acting like a spoiled child if he did, indeed, step outside his normal game play on purpose but he didn't abandon his team, they abandoned him.

Omaha...Omaha.

Because professional football players slack off during the championship game to prove a point.

It’s a game. It’s over. Who cares?

Well it showed on the first play from scrimmage when Peyton was moving around talking when the ball was snapped over his head. Causing a safety. Maybe he called the snap, maybe the center thought he heard the call for the snap but they were both rattled.

No way. This is the Super Bowl. He might often be a choke artist in the playoffs, but there's no way you wait until the Super Bowl to change up your game, or play in a way that has no purpose other than spite. These guys are professionals.

They just happened to have their worst performance in the Super Bowl. It happens.

Interesting take on it. This explains so much.... Seattle came into the game hungry for bison. They got their fill and left the bones empty. Denver looked like they had a huge let down after beating Brady. Guess they forgot that there was another game to play

I think the media hype of Manning poisoned the Bronson into believing kinda what you say. Manning always said it was a team effort but the media had a log of advertising to sell so they built up manning at the expense of the team. The first play sort of sealed the deal.

Like many of us long time Bronco fans say “maybe next year”

His team sounds like a bunch of spoiled brat babies

They should have thanked him for giving a care, instead they acted like a bunch of lazy spoiled brats

They proved themselves to be a bunch of undisciplined losers

Poor Peyton

And the front office ought to be ashamed too

I hope Peyton tells them all to suck eggs and demands to be traded

They all sucked yesterday....including Manning. I laughed earlier in the week when Sherman said Manning throws "ducks". Thought it was absurd. But then I saw Manning throw several ducks to go along with the the errors made by the rest of the team.

The loss was a team effort. Offense, Defense, Special teams, AND Peyton Manning played a part in that blowout.

Not sure of all the backstory chatter, but what I saw was a super fast and dominant Seahawks teams. I sat there slack jawed at how good that Seahawk team looked. They played every single down with speed and intensity. They put the pedal to the metal and never let up.

The good thing is that the best team won the Superbowl. Not the hottest team. Pretty clear months ago that the Seahwaks were the most complete team in football.

Alot of people have said it and I agree, the REAL SB this year was the NFC championship game.

Even now, after the season is over, SF scares me more than any other team.

It could have gone either way.

After the run back of the the 2nd half kick off, Manning was trying “Lincoln, Lincoln.”

==

2 weeks ago, SF and Seattle played a sloppy playoff game. Maybe Denver thought if they played sloppy in the Super Bowl, they might win like Seattle did 2 weeks earlier.

The better explanation for Denver’s loss is that Seattle outplayed them, with the league’s best defense shutting down Denver’s offense.

This isn’t the first lopsided loss Denver has suffered at the Superbowl. ...For the past few weeks the hype has all been about Manning and Denver’s offense, but mostly Manning, like his experience and mastery of the game was more than enough to beat the Seahawks. In a way, Richard Sherman did the Seahawks a favor by drawing all the media hype to him. For the better part of the pre-Superbowl fiasco, Wilson was little more than an afterthought. During media week Marshawn Lynch got got all the attention for not talking. There was no hyped up pressure on the team. All they had to do was focus, and show up with their best game, and they did.

No offense, but Peyton Manning just isn’t a big game QB. He has proved that in both college and the NFL. Hands down he’s probably the greatest regular season QB to ever play the game, but in crunch time he simply disappears.

11-12 in his post season career

Of those 12 losses 7 are 1 and done.

During his 2006-2007 Super Bowl post season he had 3 TDs to 7 INTs. I’m still not sure how he won the Super Bowl MVP that game as he put in a fairly pedestrian performance goin 25 of 39 for 243 yards with 1 TD and 1 INT. The Colts won that game because they took the air out of the ball in the 2nd half and pound the Bears with the run. Eventually Sexy Rexy sealed the deal with a 51 yard pick six when the Bears were driving in the 4th quarter.

Heck it took Manning leaving for the Tennessee Volunteers and QB Tee Martin to get over the Florida Gators bugaboo which plagued them during the Manning years. The won the National Championship that year.

So no, none of this shocks me. Manning is so hung up on his legacy and quest for a 2nd Super Bowl ring to validate his greatness that I have no doubt it eventually grated on his teammates. They are all professionals... this game was kind of important to them too.

The greatest irony of last night’s game was that I saw more of Tim Tebow than I did of Peyton Manning......................
