“Hear that, Mr. Christie? That’s the sound of inevitability - your presidential hopes going up in flames.” - Smith from “The Matrix.”

Ex-official is trying to negotiate a “get out of jail free” card.

If he had the goods, he’d have slapped them on the table.

Just more smoke.

Christie also knew about the ham sandwich his secretary ate for lunch. This is New Jersey we are talking about. The only significant good from all this coverage is in taking Christie off the Republican short list. Of course that just makes it clear for the next It’s His Turn, Jeb Bush. <br<I don’t think any actual conservatives have been running seriously. Announcing without having 8 years of connection forging and fundraising behind you is not serious and will only make you an also-ran to the Anointed.

Not a big deal (yet). If Christie was told - at the time - that the the bridge closing was due to a "traffic study", he's off the legal hook.

But if Christie was told the the bridge closing was part of a political payback, it's a whole different story, with a whole different ending.

Either way, it's going to work in the Dem's favor. Don't worry over illegal executive orders, that big guy over there closed a bridge!

Been waiting for the presstitutes to explain why in hell any governor of any state could expect endorsements from mayors of the opposite party.

Well anyway, maybe New Jersey will be able to elect an honest straightforward sincere man of the people for Governor-———you know, someone like media darling Jon Corzine.

Typical Dam-Dem politics. Accuse without presenting proof and go from accuse to indite to convict in a rush. When the evidence fails to turn up after a few months--big OOPS!, sorry!, but the damage is done.

Doesn't matter to me because would NEVER have voted for him, would have written in a name. I have voted for McCain and Romney holding my nose and I absolutely refuse to vote for a Christie, another Bush, or even some of the reruns making noise--like Santorum and Huckster.

We need to rid ourselve of Boehner, McConnell, and I am beginning to think--Paul Ryan.
