I’m an Okie and will run around in my shorts even during sleet and snow on the east coast, down town Manhattan, London, etc.
Heck, I’ve snowboarded in shorts in Tahoe, Valle Nevado and other places.

I keep finding some in the house. I flip them out to freeze right now. Usally I drop them in soapy water and then flush. soap and water kills them. bugspray, waspspray and stinkbug killer doesn’t. If you happen to be so lucky as to ave one smushed or trapped next to your skin their stink spray will burn you. I still have a shield scar on my leg from one that I sat on while wearing shorts.
[can you tell I hate them?]
